#Meagan Barbore
Customer Relations Manager
Meagan Babore is a mother, activist, producer and educator. Having worked within the Arts and Education sector for over 20 years, Meagan is the end result of what you get when you mix - intelligence, initiative, supreme organisational skills & a keen eye for detail.
As a fresh faced uni graduate determined to change the world, Meagan started out as a specialist Drama/English teacher. Meagan’s time in the classroom was incredibly enriching and a deeply valuable starting point to her professional career. Meagan successfully created and delivered innovative curriculum programs that were inclusive and carefully scaffolded to consider a wide range of students. Meagan’s professional reputation and positive rapport with colleagues, students, and the wider Arts community that put her on Queensland Theatre's radar. Meagan was fortunate to have the opportunity to be seconded as a resource developer as part of their Education Liaison Team.
Meagan found herself drawn to film and television production. Transferring a number of skills from her previous professional life, Meagan was quick to cement herself as a leading producer and production manager, sought out by a number of local and interstate production companies, leading her to work alongside, and learn from some of the best producers in the country.
Curious to try a different style of production on for size, Meagan dipped her toe in the world of animation. This tenure saw her credited with three feature film titles across a suite of animated children’s films.
After taking some time away from a formal workplace to work on her most challenging production to date - her 2 children, Meagan is happy to back on the tools and knee deep in a new and exciting project in her beautiful home city of Ipswich. Meagan, as Producer of Inhabited Ipswich was recently awarded a Regional Arts Development Fund grant through Ipswich City Council to produce a large-scale projection installation in Tulmur (Ipswich CBD) as part of SPARK Festival 2023 DeLite’s programming.
Hilariously, Meagan is also very “well regarded” in the Brisbane performing arts scene and recently played a starring role in a Brisbane Festival main stage production with her 2 dogs Steven and Brett, and is currently in rehearsal to represent her beloved City of Ipswich in the 2023 Common People Eisteddfod as part of Ipswich’s SPARK Festival and BrisFest 2023.
